HEALTHCARE COMMUNICATORS OF OREGON’S ANNUAL CONFERENCE FEATURES KEYNOTE SPEAKER DAVID L. MARLOWE
November 7, 2005 – Portland, OR -- Acclaimed healthcare marketing and planning guru, David L. Marlowe, was the keynote speaker last week at the Healthcare Communicators of Oregon (HCO) annual conference. The all-day event was held at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Tigard.
Marlowe, principal of Strategic Marketing Concepts, discussed “ROI Realties in Healthcare Marketing” and “Healthcare Marketing Plans that Work”. He is a nationally known marketing and planning consultant with more than 25 years of experience. He has previously served as VP of Strategic Consulting for First Strategic Group, in Whittier, California; VP for Strategic Services, Inc., in Richmond, Virginia; VP of Planning and Marketing for St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, and Director of Marketing for Harbor Health System in Baltimore, Maryland. In addition, Marlowe has held adjunct faculty positions at Avila College in Kansas City and the University of Baltimore. He is also an author and frequent lecturer for national and local professional groups throughout the country.
The conference program also included “Digital and Web Communication Trends” with Phil Jackson, VP, Providence Health Systems; “Hospital and Physician Relations” with Judy Corwin, Director of Marketing and Public Relations, The Corvallis Clinic; Public Attitudes and Healthcare Trends, Tom Eiland, Conkling Fiscum & McCormick, and Mike Riley, Riley Research. Results of an HCO member survey were also presented by Tom Eiland and Mike Riley. HCO serves to increase understanding, professionalism and support of professionals who work in and serve the broad-based healthcare industry. Members comprise representation from the hospital, insurance, primary care, rehabilitation, assisted living, and specialty care industries. HCO seeks to enlarge its membership to continuously improve the quality and standards of healthcare communication practices in Oregon and southwest Washington.
HCO is affiliated with the American Hospital Association through the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development.
