My job is rewarding because...

When I'm writing I'm learning and there is just about nothing more exciting to me than the process of discovery! I also love interviewing new people and getting a glimpse into their worlds; the creative process; and discerning the best way to communicate a message.

The biggest challenge I face is...

Having enough time in the day to accomplish all I wish to do. Technology today presents us with so many communication opportunities we would not have dreamed of even 10 years ago.

The one thing I would change about health care in Oregon is...

I would love to see healthcare organizations in Oregon become more engaged with the public on a personal level. There are so very many opportunities now for companies to speak to every audience through interactive channels. This is something I see our local healthcare organizations improving upon and it is exciting!

Favorite places and why...

Oregon is at the top of my list. My husband and I feel fortunate to live in such a beautiful and interesting place. I also enjoy England, as we go there often to visit my husband's family, and visiting other parts of the U.S. where my family lives.

If I weren't working in health care I would be...

Possibly writing fiction and inspirational books. However, I do hope to always have a hand in healthcare. I see it as the business of helping people - exactly where I want to be.
